New Life Members Announced!

Wednesday’s AGM proved to be a very special occasion with the awarding of three life memberships. It gave the committee great pleasure in recognising the huge contribution made to the club by Aynsley, Tony and Rangi over a period of years. Thank you!

Old Boy Reunion

We recently had the pleasure of hosting some squash old boys as they had a get together to discuss past glories and near misses. Great to see the familiar faces with everyone of them looking at least ten years younger than their actual age. That’s what squash can do for you…

Club Champs Decided!

Lyndal Askin with Ange Button/ Chris Collins with Nathan Hewson

This week saw our club champs decided for another year with two very worthy finals in the women’s and men’s A divisions. In the former, Ange Button persevered over the course of three tight games against Lyndal Askin. In the men’s, Chris Collins atoned for a loss in last year’s final to take the prize for the first time after a 4-game battle with Nathan Hewson. Nathan at least had the consolation of winning the junior boys prize. Aaliyah Cumming won the girl’s title.

Congratulations to the prize winners and well done to everyone else for getting off the sofa and making this a great event!

Otago SC Interclub Success!

Congratulations to the Otago C and M teams who took out their interclub finals last week. The C team followed their round robin victory with a resounding 14-1 win over Taieri C in Div 3. Otago was always assured of a win in Div 10 as our M and N teams squared off. M were able to back up their narrow round robin win but this again was close with both teams taking two matches. M however won more games coming out 11-6 winners. Well done to all involved!

Otago M: Georgia Stumbles, Kerri Bridgman, Aaliyah Cumming, Riley Bridgman, Dorothy Hutton, Alice Lane, Alice Hunter, Tessa Sinteur, Robbie Blackford
