💙 What an incredible weekend for an incredible cause! 💙

A huge thank you to all the amazing wāhine who took part in our Ovarian Cancer Tournament and proudly wore something teal to show their support.

The tournament was held in support of our much-loved club member, Kerri, who is currently battling ovarian cancer. It was wonderful to see our squash community come together to support her and help raise awareness of this devastating disease.

A big thank you to KB Insurance Brokers for sponsoring the tournament, and to Otago Sports Depot, Gary Bridgman (Ray White), and Julie Reger (Harcourts) for generously donating prizes.

Of course, events like this don't happen without the amazing volunteers behind the scenes. Thank you to Don, Dale, Shane, Maxine, Ayns, and everyone who helped with first-up marking and keeping the day running smoothly.

A special thank you to Chloe Adams, an Ovarian Cancer Foundation ambassador and survivor, who joined us to present the prizes, and to Riley, who spoke so beautifully on behalf of his mum, Kerri, who was unfortunately too unwell to attend.

Together we've raised around $1,000 so far, with the final total still to come. Several members stopped by to donate directly, and some prize winners even chose to donate their winnings back to the cause—a wonderful example of the generosity of our club community.

🏆 Newbies Tournament #2 – Brought to you by Otago Sports Depot 🏆

Saturday saw the second of our three one-day Newbies Tournaments, and what a day it was!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, played, supported, and helped create such an awesome atmosphere. I was lucky enough to be on court first thing in the morning, and it was fantastic to see every court surrounded by supporters throughout the day. The tournament wrapped up with an epic battle on Court 2 between Winsome and Louise, with a crowd gathered around to watch every point.

With 34 players competing, it was another brilliant day of squash and a great showcase of how much depth and enthusiasm we have in our newbie ranks.

What a weekend! 🏆

What a fantastic day for our first Newbies Tournament of 2026 🙌
